The core values of Jesus Center can be summed up in this manner:
- Exalting Jesus
- Community Outreach
- Biblical Discipleship
- Serving People
- Loving People
- Connecting People
However, a detailed description of our values is expressed in the paragraphs below:
WE ARE A JESUS, FAMILY, & COMMUNITY-CENTERED CHURCH
At Jesus Center Community Church, we highlight and proclaim the supremacy of Christ in all things. Jesus is the “Center” in all we do as a community of faith, which includes our engagement with Scripture, corporate worship, community outreach, relationship-building, fellowship, and discipleship. We are intentional about serving and strengthening individuals, loving and empowering families, and transforming our neighboring communities and cities in the Treasure Coast to the glory of God. We believe in the power of the Gospel and a God-centered life to foster positive and interpersonal relationships with individuals and families in our neighboring cities and communities and to create a healthy, peaceful, and non-threatening environment so that our children, young people, and adults in the Treasure Coast could grow, flourish, and honor Christ.
WE ARE RELATIONAL IN OUR SPIRIT-FILLED CORPORATE WORSHIP
At Jesus Center, through the prompting of the Holy Spirit and collaborative leadership, we strive together to make our congregation a friendly and dynamic environment for all people who come to worship the Triune God with us. Our Spirit-filled corporate worship is done in awe and reverence to the only true God who deserves all of our praises and adoration. We dance and shout for Jesus and praise the name of the glorious and majestic Triune God. The corporate worship at Jesus Center is an incredible moment as we intentionally seek to do life together as a community of faith and followers of Christ; it fosters unity in the body of Christ, establishes greater relational bond and interpersonal rapport between the members, and ultimately contributes both to our individual and collective growth in the spiritual level.
WE ARE COMMITTED TO THE BIBLE & EFFECTIVE DISCIPLESHIP
At Jesus Center, we believe that genuine Christian discipleship and effective Christian witness in public involves community outreach and discipleship, and serving, loving, and connecting people. One of our aims is to nurture good and steady relationships with families and to love and care for the people in the community where we are located in Fort Pierce and to stretch our resources to other neighboring communities and individuals in the Treasure Coast. We are committed to teaching the Word of God faithfully and unapologetically, restoring and strengthening families, empowering individuals, and help both families and individuals to live a life that honors God and glorify Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit. Our approach to preaching is the expository method, that is a verse-by-serve emphasis on the Biblical text; we also take a Christ-centered hermeneutics in our interpretation and a Christocentric analysis of the Biblical narrative.
WE ARE MISSIONAL AND EVANGELISTIC
We are an evangelistically-sensitive and a mission-minded congregation. Our philosophy of ecclesiology is grounded on the imperative of the Great Commission given by Christ and the necessity of global outreach and mission with the intended goal to make individuals become passionate and committed followers of Christ. We have allocated resources for both local outreach and global outreach, contributing to both our spiritual growth and the expansion of the Gospel.
WE SHOW ACTS OF KINDNESS AND COMPASSION TO PEOPLE
Jesus Center Community Church is a congregation that intentionally seeks to exercise acts of kindness and compassion toward people, to lift up those who are spiritually broken, and to care for the hungry, the orphan, the widow, and the disheartened. As a church, our goal is to give hope to the hopeless, empower those who are weak, and to make every individual who comes worship with us and those whom we meet outside of our sanctuary realize that they were created for a purpose, for intimacy with God, and that they are loved by God. At Jesus Center, our overarching objective in this life is to be like Jesus and to love and honor the Triune God in all our heart, soul, and our intellect, as well as to prioritize Him in our choices and actions.
WE ARE A MULTI-ETHNIC, MULTI-GENERATIONAL, AND MULTI-RACIAL CONGREGATION
Jesus Center is a multi-ethnic, multi-generational, and multi-racial church because God has called all people from every country, every nation, every culture, every race, and every language to enjoy and worship Him and pay exclusive allegiance to Jesus as Lord & Savior (1 Corinthians 12:12-14). “For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together” (Colossians 1:16-17). We believe diversity, unity, and harmony enrich the body of Christ and fosters a better spiritual life, and contributes to better human relations and interactions between Christians and others that are Christ-honoring and Christ-exalting. As a Church, we do life together and pride ourselves in the rich cultural, ethnic, racial, and generational diversity and differences God has gifted the Church and his creation. We declare unreservedly God’s inclusive and universal love for all cultures, all languages, all races, all ethnic groups, and all peoples in the world.
God loves diversity and so planned his creation to reflect his heart and passion for all peoples and all nations. We are intentional about being a diverse congregation because of the imperative of The Great Commission to “go and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19) and God’s ultimate desire and plan to spread his name among all cultures and peoples through Jesus Christ. The Bible maintains that “There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus” (Galatians 3:28). Finally, the reason for Jesus is global worship and adoration, “After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. And they cried out in a loud voice: ‘Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb” (Revelation 7:9-10 ).
